Secretary’s Report:  Minutes from April meeting approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  There is currently $7,635 in the general fund and $6,227 in the student accounts. Detailed report attached.

Budget for next year proposed. (attached)

Question:  Why isn’t there a poinsettia sale in the budget? Answer: they weren’t big sellers this year, but any idea can be revisited.

Question:  What is “No Hassle” ?  The No Hassle fundraiser was described as being just that……..the work is done for you. Band families receive a package in the mail containing letters to mail, and envelopes to mail them in. The students are asked to sign the letters and mail to friends and family. Donations are then sent to Donette Yeilding, who returns a thank you note to the sender and informs the band student. Students are encouraged to send their own thank you notes also. This is a great way to involve your friends and family who are not local. This is by far our single best fundraiser.

Question:  What is Tag Day?  Answer: On Tag Day band members go out into the community and tag houses with a schedule, information and a request for a donation. We also place people at Wal-Mart. Tag Day was not as successful as we had hoped last year, but it was our first year trying it and several lessons were learned.

The budget was tabled until the June meeting when a vote will be conducted. Please feel free to contact any board member with questions/ideas about the budget. Please let us know of any fundraising ideas as soon as possible.
